Upper Harbour Drive, Greenhithe
Upper Harbour Drive, Greenhithe
The Brief: The Upper Harbour Drive property is a large home on a busy through road in semi-rural Greenhithe. The client required privacy and noise shelter from the main road plus a family-friendly garden for entertaining, with a saltwater plunge pool and planting that that accommodated a number of mature trees already on the 1.5-acre site.
Outcome: A heritage style, two-metre-high stone wall was constructed at the front of the property with central access to the large circular driveway. Hardy trees were added to the front to provide texture, colour and height, providing added privacy and noise reduction from the busy main road.
Stone paths weave around the entire perimeter of the house, providing natural rest areas and attractive wayfinding leading to the main garden at the rear of the property. The main garden is a large circular design perfect for entertaining, featuring multi-level planting and water features – a carp-pool plus a privately fenced, saltwater plunge pool and water feature designed for swimming. The gardens include mixture of traditional English and native plants as well as several raised beds for vegetables and herbs.
